We’ve had a nice summer here are Chez Foodie. Lil’ Foodie had a less demanding schedule than last summer & I did quite a bit of work on our yard in the spring, which is a good thing, since we have been using it a lot more.
The weather has been a bit flukey in our area, and both times we had beach plans we got rained out. Being a resilient duo, this didn’t get Lil’ Foodie and I either visit my good friend “Uncle Chucky” who lives right up the street from a nice pond, where he swims most evenings or we have some fun right at home in our back yard. I’d say swimming with Chuck and playing on her swingset at home are pretty much her favorite things to do right now.
The simple joy of running around in her back yard and playing on her swing really seem to make her day.
Adding a chilly sweet Otter Pop into the mix makes the day all the more fun.
To me Otter Pops are reminiscent of my grandparent’s house. My grandmother always had them in the freezer during the summer as an inexpensive treat to hand out when the grandkids came over. My parents really didn’t buy any, so they seemed a little extra special when we had them over there. I always liked the orange and pink ones best. Lil’ Foodie must like those the best too, because all we had left when I went to take this picture were blue & green. She sure seemed to like the blue today though…lol.
Our activities might not be YOLO (You Only Live Once) moments by the standards of some, but we enjoyed them, and isn’t that what is the true essence of YOLO anyway… enjoying life.
