½teaspoonKosher salt
2large garlic clovescrushed (or ½ teaspoon garlic powder)
3tablespoonunsalted buttermelted
½teaspoonground black pepper
½teaspoongranulated onion powder
Instructions
To start, pat the chicken wings dry with paper towels to ensure seasonings adhere.
Place chicken wing parts in a large deep bowl, add garlic, salt, spices, and oil.
Thoroughly mix the wings so that each part is coated with salt, spices and oil. If you wish, you can cover the bowl with plastic wrap and leave for 30-60 minutes.
Oven
Preheat the oven to 400 degrees F.
Cover the baking sheet with parchment or aluminum foil. Transfer chicken wings to parchment and bake for 20 minutes on one side.
Flip them over to the other side and bake another 15-20 minutes then you can remove the baked wings from the oven.
Air Fryer
If you are making the wings in an air fryer, you will need to preheat the air fryer to 390F.
Lay the wings in the air fryer basket in a single layer. Leave a little space for air flow. Cook for 15 minutes.
Turn the wings over to the other side and air fry for another 7 minutes.
Coating
Put the cooked hot wings in a bowl, pour over the melted butter and add the grated parmesan. Toss to coat each piece with Parmesan and butter. Serve the wings right away.
Garnish with finely chopped parsley or basil if you like.
Notes
Timing on top of card is for the air fryer, total for oven baking the chicken wings is about 50 mins. For extra crispy chicken wings, skip the oil in original coating and add 1 ½ tablespoon of baking powder to the spices. If cooking in oven elevate the wings on a wire rack coated with nonstick cooking spray placed over a baking sheet.
