Ingredients
1cupcreamy peanut butter
1cupgranulated sugar
1large egg
Instructions
Preheat oven to 350 degrees F.
In a large bowl combine all three ingredients. Mix well, until the dough comes together and can be formed into a ball.
Divide the dough into 24 pieces and roll the dough into balls. Place the dough balls on ungreased baking sheets, at least 1 inch apart.
Use a fork to press onto the top of each dough ball to slightly flatten and leave the imprint of the fork. Turn the fork 90 degrees and make a second imprint to create the classic peanut butter cookie crisscross pattern on top.
Place the cookies in preheated oven and bake for 8-10 minutes until set and edges are golden brown.
Cool on a wire rack before serving.
Notes
The cookies can be made with smooth or chunky peanut butter, but look for a jar where the oil doesn't separate for best results.
