Baked strawberry donuts with cream cheese strawberry frosting are both delicious and easy to make. Fresh strawberries make this one of my favorite homemade donuts
donut pan, if you want donut holes, use a mini muffin pan instead
Ingredients
Donut Batter:
1cupall-purpose flour
⅓cupgranulated sugar
½teaspoonsalt
1teaspoonbaking powder
⅓cupmilk
1egg
1teaspoonvanilla extract
1tablespoonbuttermelted
⅓cupfinely chopped fresh strawberries
Cream Cheese Strawberry Glaze for Donuts:
2oz.cream cheesesoften to room temperature
1tsp.melted butter
4strawberriespureed or mashed
Pinchof salt
1 ½cupspowdered sugar
Instructions
Preheat oven to 400 degrees.
In a large mixing bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, sugar and salt until fully combined.
Add the following wet ingredients to the dry ingredients to create dough: chopped strawberries, milk, egg, vanilla extract and butter. Stir all ingredients until fully mixed.
Using a pastry bag or ziploc style plastic bag with corner snipped off to pipe the donut mixture, squeeze batter into a prepared and greased donut mold pan. Bake for 9-10 minutes until lightly golden brown.
Remove from pans and allow donuts to fully cool on a wire rack. Once cooled frost with strawberry cream cheese glaze.
Prepare Frosting: Melted butter and cream cheese until smooth. Add in pureed berries, salt, and powdered sugar until you reach your desired glaze consistency.
