Ingredients
2poundsground beef
1tablespoondried minced onion
½teaspoongarlic powder
Salt and black pepperto taste
15ouncecan sloppy joe sauce
15ouncecan chili with beansYes, you can use no bean chili instead.
4cupsfrozen hash brownsthawed
2cupsshredded sharp cheddar cheesedivided
Instructions
Preheat the oven to 425 degrees. Prepare a 9x13 baking dish with nonstick cooking spray.
In a large skillet, cook the ground beef with the onion, garlic, salt, and black pepper, crumbling the beef as it browns. Cook until no longer pink and drain the meat well.
In a large bowl, mix the sloppy joe sauce, chili, hash browns, and 1 cup of cheese. Add the ground beef to the mixture and stir until evenly incorporated.
Transfer the ingredients to the prepared baking dish. Sprinkle the remaining cheese over the top.
Cover the casserole with aluminum foil and bake for 30 minutes. Remove the aluminum foil and continue baking until the top is golden, about 15 minutes.
