This Grilled Asparagus with Balsamic vinegar recipe is one we enjoy year-round, though, of course we eat a lot more of it in the spring when fresh asparagus is in peak season.

Grilled Balsamic Asparagus: A Family Favorite
To say Grilled Asparagus is popular at my house, would be a gross understatement. I love the stuff.  When my husband was with us, it was one of the few vegetables he was interested in eating (and even requested).  My young daughter noshes down on grilled asparagus balsamic style like most kids eat candy. Maybe, the balsamic vinegar sweetens it up a little for her youthful taste buds.
This easy grilled asparagus is the perfect side dish for any summer meals from steak to grilled chicken or even seafood, such as my Blackened Salmon.
Grilled Asparagus Balsamic Style... So Easy
This grilled asparagus recipe with Balsamic marinade is incredibly easy. When it is too cold or rainy outside, the recipe is readily adapted to the oven, or can even be made in a cast iron ridged grill pan over medium high heat.  I can boast turning a few asparagus haters into lovers with this simple recipe. Rather than continuing to put your asparagus through the indignity of boiling, give grilling it a try. ⅔ of this particular batch of grilled asparagus, was devoured by my daughter, and she went looking for more... twice.
Store leftover balsamic grilled asparagus in an airtight container. It will last in the fridge for at least 3-4 days.
Weather not good for grilling? Make my Easy Baked Asparagus or sauteed asparagus with mushrooms.

Grilled Balsamic Asparagus Recipe
Ingredients
- 1 bunch asparagus
- 2 tablespoon olive oil
- 2 tablespoon balsamic vinegar
- 1 clove garlic minced
- generous pinch of dried thyme
- 1 pinch Kosher salt
Instructions
- Mix olive oil, balsamic vinegar, garlic, thyme and salt in bowl long enough to accommodate asparagus spears.
- Wash asparagus and blot dry. Cut or snap off and dispose tough ends of asparagus spears. Add asparagus to balsamic mixture. Toss to coat spears well, and set aside to marinate.
- Preheat grill to medium.
- Place spears on grill, being sure to put tops as far from flame as possible.
- Turn after a few minutes, be watchful that the spears don't burn. Some will have to be removed sooner than others, as thicker spears. You just want then cooked to tender.
- Put grilled asparagus back in the marinade bowl, and toss to coat.
- Serve warm.
