This easy Pizza Muffins recipe uses refrigerated pizza dough and a muffin pan to make delicious homemade pizza bites the whole family will love. These toddler friendly mini pizzas are so easy to make and work great as appetizers, an after school snack, and party food as well.
This is a basic mini muffin tin pizza muffins recipe, with tomato sauce and shredded cheese. You can of course add any of your favorite pizza toppings to these easy savory muffins.

How to Make Mini Pizza Muffins in a Muffin Pan

Ingredients for Pizza Bites in Muffin Tin

- 1 (16) refrigerated Pizza Dough
- ¾ cup Pizza Sauce
- 1 cup Mozzarella Cheese, freshly shredded
- Fresh Basil, to garnish
Directions
Start by preheating your oven to 400℉ and grease your muffin tin with butter or non-stick cooking spray.

Divide the pizza dough into 12 equal balls and stretch each ball to form into the muffin tin.

Spoon about 1 tablespoon of sauce into the center of each piece of dough in the muffin tin.

Generously sprinkle cheese over the sauce. If you would like to add toppings to you pizza muffins, such as chopped pepperoni, do so now.
Tip: freshly shredded mozzarella melts best, pre-shredded cheese will work it is just not preferrable.
Feel free to add any of your favorite pizza toppings, such as diced pepperoni, to these pizza muffins, just make sure they are cut to size to fit on the mini pizzas.

Bake for about 15-20 minutes. You will know these are done when the edges of the pizza dough feel firm and the cheese starts to have golden brown spots on it.

Let the mini pizzas cool slightly, add some freshly chopped basil if you like, and enjoy!
Pizza Muffins Toppings
While cheese pizza muffins are pictured here, you can make them with any of your favorite pizza toppings.
For a pepperoni pizza muffins version, simple chop up the pepperoni slices. Any other classic pizza topping such as browned ground Italian sausage, sliced ham, black olives, or finely chopped veggies, such as onions, peppers or tomato are also good choices.
Sprinkle on Italian seasoning, garlic powder, or crushed red pepper flakes to add extra flavor to your pizza muffins if you like.

Storage
Store leftover pizza muffins in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 3 days. Reheat in the microwave, or in the air fryer at 390℉ for 2-3 minutes.
For longer term storage freeze the pizza muffins for up to 3 months.
