There is just something more fun about blue drinks and this Blue Cosmo is no exception. The Blue Cosmopolitan cocktail recipe is easy just as easy to make as the traditional cosmopolitan drink. It tastes similar as well, just a bit smoother and of course a pretty blue color.
Blue Cosmopolitan Cocktail
When converting the basic cosmopolitan recipe to a blue drink, the same primary ingredients are used, but with color in mind. Rather than triple sec, blue curacao adds a sweet fruity splash. White cranberry juice is used instead of regular and many (myself included) skip lime juice, allowing the lemon twist to suffice.
The result is a lovely smooth flavored blue martini style cocktail.
How to Make a Blue Cosmo
Here we will prepare the blue cosmopolitan recipe step-by-step.
Blue Cosmopolitan Ingredients
Here is everything you will need to make this blue cocktail.
- 1 oz blue curacao
- 3 ½ oz vodka
- 2 oz white cranberry juice
- ice
- lemon twist
Equipment
- cocktail shaker
- martini glass
Mixing the Cosmopolitan
Starting with a chilled glass is ideal.
Fill glass at least half full with ice. Pour in the blue curacao.
TIP: Measured speed pours or a jigger will help with an accurate pour.
Add your vodka!
Pour in the white cranberry juice.
Shake and strain into the martini glass.
Twist a strip of lemon rind over the cocktail glass to release the oils in the skin. Drop the lemon twist into the blue cosmo.
Enjoy in moderation.
