Variations on the Dip Recipe
Here are a few fun add-ins or swaps for the easy hot chocolate dip recipe that you may like.
- For some extra holiday flair, add a few drop of peppermint extract to the dip or sprinkle on some crushed candy canes.
- Make it a hot cocoa cheesecake dip, by mixing in a softened block of cream cheese, as I did in my Raspberry Cheesecake Dip.
- Add a ½ teaspoon of cinnamon, especially if that is something you love in hot cocoa.
- Make it mocha, with the addition of a teaspoon or two of instant coffee.
Storing
To make ahead or save leftovers, seal in an airtight container or wrap snugly with plastic wrap and refrigerate. The dip will be good for up to 5 days in the refrigerator.
If making ahead, wait to add garnish until serving. The hot cocoa dip actually benefits from resting in the fridge overnight, so the flavors meld.
