Recipe makes 24 bars.
Ingredients for Bars
- 14 oz sweetened condensed milk
- ¼ cup peanut butter - melted
- 12 sheets graham crackers
- ½ cup unsalted butter - melted
- 1 cup semi sweet chocolate chips or chunks
- ¼ cup toffee baking bits
- 1 ½ cups shredded coconut
- ½ cup M&MS
Chocolate Drizzle (optional)
- ½ cup semi sweet chocolate chips
- ½ tablespoon vegetable oil
Preparation
First, preheat your oven to 350 degrees F. Then prepare a 13x9 baking dish with non stick cooking spray or line the bottom with foil (as shown) and spray the foil for easy release.
In a medium mixing bowl, combine the melted peanut butter and sweetened condensed milk; mix well and set aside.
Using a food processor, or a plastic bag and rolling pin, crush the graham crackers into about 1 ½ cups of crumbs.
Combine the graham cracker crumbs and melted butter. Press the crumb mixture onto the bottom of the prepared pan. If you press down firmly with the back of a measuring cup it works pretty well.
Once the crust layer is evenly formed move on to the next step.
Spread coconut over the crumbs.
Sprinkle chopped toffee and chocolate chips or chunks over the coconut layer.
Try swapping chopped peanut butter cups or Peanut butter chips for the toffee if you prefer. Get creative.
Pour the peanut butter mixture over the top, evenly distributing.
Top with the M&MS.
For even more peanut flavor swap Reese's Pieces for the M & Ms or simply add some chopped peanuts along with the candies.
Bake for 25-30 minutes, until the top is golden brown.
Cool completely before you cut the bars.
For presentation, you can melt ½ cup of chocolate chips with ½ tablespoon of oil in the microwave. Cook for 15 seconds at a time, stirring between each time; until completely melted. Using a fork, drizzle the chocolate all over the top of the bars and chill them for 15 minutes to set the chocolate.
