How to Make Strawberry Donuts

Here is everything needed to make the strawberry frosted donut recipe.
Strawberry Donut Batter:
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- ⅓ cup granulated sugar
- ½ teaspoon salt
- 1 teaspoon baking powder
- ⅓ cup milk
- 1 large egg
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 tablespoon butter (melted)
- ⅓ cup finely chopped strawberries
Glaze for Donuts
- 2 oz. cream cheese, soften to room temperature
- 1 tsp. melted butter
- 4 strawberries (pureed or mashed)
- Pinch of salt
- 1 ½ cups confectioners sugar (powdered)
Supplies
- piping bag or plastic bag with tip snipped off
- donut pan (if you want donut holes, use a mini muffin pan instead)
Preparation
1. Preheat oven to 400 degrees. In a large mixing bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, sugar and salt until fully combined. 2. Add the following wet ingredients to the dry ingredients: chopped strawberries, milk, egg, vanilla extract and melted butter. Stir all ingredients until fully mixed. 3. Using a pastry bag or ziploc style plastic bag with corner snipped off to pipe the donut mixture, squeeze batter into a prepared and greased donut mold pan. 4. Bake at for 9-10 minutes until lightly golden brown. 5. Remove the strawberry donuts from pan and place on cooling rack until room temperature. Do not frost with strawberry cream cheese glaze until fully cool, icing will melt.
How to Make Strawberry Glaze for Donuts
Whip together the melted butter and cream cheese until smooth. Add in pureed strawberries, salt, and powdered sugar until you reach your desired glaze consistency. Them spread on top of the doughnuts.
Serve and enjoy! These frosted strawberry cake donuts are perfect with your morning coffee or to serve with tea.
Store the Doughnuts
Store any of the baked donuts which are not promptly eaten in an airtight container to keep them fresh. They will last 1-2 days are room temperature or 3-4 in the refrigerator.
