This Keto Pork Chops recipe will not leave you missing the carbs. Thick cut boneless pork chops are pan fried and topped with a decadent Parmesan cream sauce with garlic and basil. Just add a couple low carb side dishes and you have a special meal in under 30 minutes, while following your keto diet plan.
This is one of my very favorite keto pork chop recipes and extremely popular with readers. I hope you enjoy!
Keto Pork Chops
Boneless pork chops are a low cost cut of meat and you can sometimes find them thick cut, which helps keep them moist. Ask your butcher to cut some thicker ones for you if they are not ready packaged that way. Pan frying the chops and serving them with a rich herb and Parmesan cream sauce elevates the humble cut of meat to gourmet fare. All this while keeping the dish down to a keto friendly 7 net carb grams per serving. The cream sauce for the pork chops is also gluten free, if that is a concern.
I'm sure this creamy keto sauce for pork will quickly become a favorite. It's great with chicken too!
How to Make Keto Pork Chops
Here is a quick visual guide to making this keto pork dish. Full printable recipe is on the card below.
The recipe makes 4 servings.
Ingredients you will need:
- 4 pork chops, boneless thick cut (adjust time for thinner or bone-in cuts)
- 1 tbsp. unsalted Butter (yes, you can use salted, simply adjust how much salt you add to recipe)
- 1 tbsp. Olive oil
- 1 cup chopped onion
- 3 Cloves minced garlic
- ½ cup chicken bone broth (Yes, you can use beef broth. Chicken will allow flavor of pork to shine through more though.)
- 1 cup Heavy cream
- 1 tsp Basil
- ½ tsp Garlic powder
- ¾ cup Parmesan cheese
- 2 tbsp parsley Chopped
- Salt and pepper to taste
You will need a large skillet to prepare this low carb pork chops recipe. A cast iron skillet is best.
Directions:
The salt and pepper both sides of the pork. The seasoned chops are then seared in the skillet and flipped. Cook pork chops through to an internal temp of 145 degrees F.
Onion and garlic are sauteed in the pan, once the pork is set aside.
Bone broth and heavy cream are added to the skillet to start the sauce. Bone broth helps alleviate symptoms of keto flu, so I don't recommend swapping regular stock.

Add the Parmesan, basil, garlic powder and fresh parsley and reduce heat to simmer to thicken the Parmesan cream sauce for the pork chops.
Keto Side Dishes for Pork Chops
As shown, steamed broccoli is a great side for this Parmesan pork chops keto entree. Other great keto approved side dishes would be cauliflower rice, spinach, sauteed broccoli rabe, roasted green beans or baked asparagus.
For a beverage, Matcha Green Tea Lemonade (includes Keto version), dry white wine or if you want something with some carbs, but still light a Salty Dog grapefruit mixed drink.
Garlic Parmesan Wings or Keto Stuffed Artichokes are a couple low carb appetizers that would pair well with this delicious pork dinner.
Yes, absolutely. Plan for a slightly longer cooking time with bone-in vs. boneless chops. This will of course also vary based on thickness of the pork cut.
Yes, the method and sauce would also be well suited for chicken. I would suggest boneless chicken thighs, but several readers have made chicken breast versions with great results.

Where are the 7G of carbs coming from? The onion alone? Looks great though!
Robin Gagnon says
Yes, although my nutrition software may be off slightly and does not calculate partial grams... I think if the fiber was taken off it would be more like 6 net grams from the onions and garlic in the cream sauce.
Holly says
Wow! This was delicious! I especially loved the sauce poured over broccoli. I’ll be making this again soon!
Melissa says
Heavy cream also has carbs. It has less than a gram per serving, but once you are using as much as a cup it has about 6 carbs.
Robin Gagnon says
Yes,the nutrition software calculated 6.6 grams ... so that contributed a little over one and a half grams.

This is one of the best keto pork chop recipes I've tried. I love how super easy and flavorful it is. It always turns out perfectly. Thanks for the great recipe!
Dini says
This was so easy and flavorful with the bone broth and cheese, and pan frying them was a great idea! Thank you so much for the recipe. I'll be making pork chops like this a lot more often now! 🙂
Wilhelmina says
This is a meal I know my family will love! Easy and flavorful!
Diane says
Can this be frozen?
Robin Gagnon says
The pork would probably get dry being reheated from frozen.
Tenille says
Could u do this in a crockpot or oven?
Robin Gagnon says
I would not do this in a crockpot. It is a relatively quick recipe. It could probably be finished in the oven, but a big part of the flavor comes from browning the pork chops so I doubt it would save you much effort.
Lauren says
I LOVED this! I omitted the onions (to save on carbs), and I added mushrooms and spinach. I did not have parm so I used shredded cheddar and a little cream cheese, and my own seasonings. Will definitely make again
Robin Gagnon says
That sounds like a delicious swap. I love onions, but was thinking of going with mushrooms next time too (or maybe a mix of the two).
Nae says
ABSOLUTELY AMAZING!!!

I just made these pork chops and they were delicious!! I added about 1/4 cup cream cheese to give the sauce a little more thickness. I will definitely make these again!!!

I am diabetic wondering how this would work for that because you have to watch carbs need to lose weight
Robin Gagnon says
Yes, this would also be considered a diabetic friendly recipe.
Donna says
What kind Parmesan? The one you have to shred yourself or the one in the canister?
Robin Gagnon says
The canister is fine. The Parmesan you grate yourself may be too pungent depending on the brand.
Kayla says
This might be a dumb question but I’m just starting to do Keto. Is the total amount of calories and crabs for just one pork chop or all 4?
Robin Gagnon says
The carbs and calories are per serving, not the entire pan.
Good luck on your Keto journey 🙂
Megan says
These pork chops were fabulous. I added a couple tablespoons of cream cheese to really thicken the sauce up.
Robin Gagnon says
I add cream cheese to thicken sauces sometimes as well. I don't always have heavy cream on hand, but my daughter eats cream cheese with bagels so I usually have that.
Brendy Wolfrum says
Robin, would it be ok to substitute chicken broth for bone broth and to use xanthan gum just a teaspoon to help thicken the sauce?
Robin Gagnon says
That would be fine. You probably don't need to add Xanthan gum. The cream and Parmesan cheese should be sufficient to thicken the sauce.
Ivelysse Swan says
This recipe was so easy and super delicious. My husband loved it. It’s definitely a do over.
Robin Gagnon says
So glad you liked the pork chops 🙂
Cheryl R says
This is my favorite to date, keto pork chop recipe! I did not use thick pork chops, I used large, bone in chops and the only thing I did differently was added about 2 tablespoons of cream cheese to the sauce before adding the pork chops. I served it with steamed cauliflower and it was absolutely amazing (the sauce was great with the cauliflower too). I will be making again! Thank you for sharing.
Peg says
What type of bone broth can I use? Tx.
Robin Gagnon says
I use chicken bone broth in my house, but beef would be ok.
Karen says
This was delicious! Where's an onion when you need it? I substituted 3 tbsp of dried minced onion and added it to the garlic/broth/hwc liquid before adding the cheese. Worked perfectly. The family said they were the best pork chops I've ever made.
Tina says
Can I use half n half. I don't have heavy whipping cream
Robin Gagnon says
Yes, just adjust for the difference in fat and carbs. The sauce will be slightly thinner. You can always toss in a little more Parmesan to make up for that if you want thick sauce.
A Mac says
Delicious sauce! We barbecued our pork but great sauce! Made Cauliflower mashed "potatoes". Went well with it
Robin Gagnon says
That sounds amazing!
CJordan says
Even picky hard to please daughter Loved this! and wants me to make again. Definitely making again!!.
I added fresh baby spinach to sauce right before returning the pork chops to the pan. Served it
once the spinach had wilted down into the sauce. It was Amazing!
