Halloween is my favorite holiday. Christmas, Easter and the rest are great and all, but Halloween is a time to get a little wild and enjoy the cool fresh air of autumn. Shopping for this holiday is just plain stinkin’ fun! Collective Bias sent me off to check out the holiday wares at Kmart, I enjoyed every minute of it.
The main Halloween section was a bit of a walk from the front door, but I was quickly greeted by a couple racks of neat spooky T-shirts. I of course grabbed the one that said “Bite Me”. I might just wear it year round…lol.
I was eager to check out the primary Halloween decor and costume section, but stopped along the way to browse some end cap displays, with kitchen accessories, candles and other cool decorations that were sporting All Hallows Eve flair, at reasonable prices.
The Halloween decor, candy and costumes were in the typical seasonal section. There sure was a whole lot of candy, but I refuse to buy any until a few days before the actual holiday. I have a hard time resisting chocolate.
A few things in the decor section caught me eye right away. There was a big skull that would look awesome with a strobe light and fog machine tucked in him (both of which were on the store shelves). I also loved the life-size skeletons and graves stones that were displayed together.
If you want to do a pumpkin carving project with the kids, Kmart had two different carving kit choices, as well as, Mr. Potato Head style stick on features and flameless lights. They also had Creepy lab kits and a brain dissection kit, Yikes!
There were 3 aisles full of costumes, with choices in all sizes. The styles went from cute and sweet to downright gory. Here are a few that caught my eye.
After seeing all these ghoulish delights, I noticed a kiosk right across from the candy, filled with kid’s Halloween books. My daughter fell in love with the Happy Halloween Curious George book, so I got it for her. They had a big selection to suit a wide range of ages, such a great alternative to a bag of candy as a holiday gift. Not to say a little candy is such a bad thing 😉If you love Halloween as much as I do, be sure to stop in the Kmart 50-Ft Party site, for Halloween tips, deals and printable coupons!!
