Eureka Pet Pal Bagless Vacuum Review

Eureka Pet Vacuum I was recently contacted by Eureka and asked if I would like to review their new Pet Pal vacuum ( a Walmart exclusive).  I have had good a experience with Eureka vacuums in the past, and own a German Shepherd, who seems to be shedding every time I turn around, so I happily agreed to review this bagless vacuum specifically designed to clean up pet hair. When the Pet Pal vacuum arrived, I promptly set to putting it together.  The process was very simple, and the only tool Continue Reading

Quick Pickled Cubanelle Peppers Recipe

I love pickled peppers, so when I saw a great deal on Cubanelle peppers, I grabbed a  few to pickle. These peppers are sweet rather than spicy, and are easier on the stomach, in my opinion.  Quick pickled Cubanelle peppers are extremely easy to make, and go great cooked with pork or chicken, and go well on pizza and sandwiches, as well. The pickled peppers are  made in a strong brine, so that they will be ready fast (in just a couple hours) and maintain their crispness.  Most of this batch Continue Reading

Lemon Balm Pork Tenderloin Recipe

I enjoy using lemon balm in my cooking.  It is a very easy to grow herb and goes well in many recipes.  Here it is teamed with marjoram to flavor a pork tenderloin. 1. Put in mini food processor: a handful of fresh lemon balm, a few sprigs of fresh marjoram (about 1/2 as much as the lemon balm), about 2 tbs. olive oil, 1/2 tsp of minced garlic, large pinch of Kosher salt & small pinch of black pepper. 2. Pulse the mixure until herbs are well chopped.  Pull out any large stems. 3. Continue Reading

Jollys Garden Clogs: Review

I'm an avid gardener, so I was pretty happy when I was sent a pair of Jollys Garden clogs to review.    Jollys clogs are German made and available for men,  women and children.  They have a classic style, which has a slight heel, as well as, a  fashion  style that just has some lift to it.  Both styles are available both with open and closed heel.  Water resistant clogs are available in a wide selection of solid colors.  Patterned clogs are also available, and called "picture clogs". Garden Continue Reading

Homemade Chicken Patties Recipe

This homemade chicken patty recipe is easy to make.  It is a great way to use up chicken, especially if it is a little tough.  Homemade chicken patties are also a good choice for those with dietary limitations. This week large packs of chicken breasts were on sale at my usual grocer.  I carefully selected from the packages, finding the least "grainy" looking package, to avoid tough meat.  My efforts were in vain though.  I sliced, marinated & grilled a few breasts... they were tough.  Continue Reading

Best Chicken Soup Recipe

Want to know how to make the best chicken soup that comes out perfect every time? This recipe makes a nice big pot of flavorful traditional homemade chicken soup.  The pasta (or rice if you prefer) is cooked separately and added at serving time, so it doesn't get mushy. If traditional chicken soup is not what you are in the mood for, try my Chicken Minestrone Soup  Kale, Bean and Chicken Soup or Creamy Chicken Florentine Soup. Best Chicken Soup Recipe The best chicken soup is Continue Reading
